GBAPS Grant Application

The Green Bay Area Public School District Education Foundation is committed to supporting every child to graduate college, career and community ready (whether that’s attending a 2 or 4 year college, entering the workforce or enlisting in the military) by securing funds and other resources to enhance and/or expand learning opportunities and ensure equitable access to District-wide programs and activities.

This granting program is not meant to replace ongoing public support of education, but funds opportunities, materials, and experiences that go beyond the School District budget.

The Education Foundation is held at the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and has a 501(c)(3) status.

An advisory board will guide the process and grants will be provided to support the areas of interest outlined below. Proposals are welcome in all categories of funding, with special focus on those that address emerging needs or literacy for the 2021 – 2022 school year. Within literacy, we are especially interested in proposals that are intended to impact PK-2 English or Spanish Literacy, with resources that are culturally and linguistically responsive.

-Literacy & Arts

-Athletics & Fitness

-Health & Wellness

-Technology & STEM initiatives

-Michelle Langenfeld Fund for Emerging Needs

Qualified Applicants: Applications will be accepted from any Green Bay Public School District staff member. All applicants must have the approval from the principal/administrator/direct supervisor. Any school-related activity consistent with district curricula and policies qualifies, except existing activities funded by the School District. Only one application per individual will be accepted each grant cycle. Grant amount is focused on the grant being able to make a measurable impact on the children and area of interest from the dollars granted. The larger amounts should inspire and encourage grade level, school level or other collaboration.

Grant Awards: Typical grants range in amounts and are annual grants.

Final Report: Successful applicants will be required to complete a brief follow-up report at the end of the project or grant period.

Grant dollars must be used for their intended purpose. Funding or project must stay with the school(s) in which the application was submitted.

Deadline: March 31, 2022

Decisions will be announced before June 1. Implementation of funded programs and activities will occur during the school year starting September 1. Previously incurred expenses will not be considered. For questions about this grant program, please contact Amy Fish at [email protected]
