Elmore Elementary 5th grade teacher Jennifer Johnson received a 2023 Education Foundation grant to fund a field trip to Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. 

The purpose of the trip was to kickstart Hansen’s unit on persuasive writing.

The experience helped students to build background knowledge about milk to later apply to their persuasive essays regarding whether or not chocolate milk should be provided at schools.

During the field trip, students also enjoyed touring a dairy farm, sitting in a plow simulator and learning about cow nutrition and developmental stages.
